At present, SAPELI is the biggest producer of veneered doors and doorframes with the longest tradition. The history of the firm dates back to the end of the 19th century, after a mill, a sawmill and a starch factory were founded in approximately 1870 on the location of the present factory. In 1945, the factory was bombarded on the last day of World War II. By the year 1947, a new part of the woodworking plant for processing timber semiproducts was completed. In this section processing of sawn timber for batten doors and timber packaging products took place. In 1948 the plant was nationalised and incorporated into a group of united woodworking plants and a new specialised production process of interior doors came into being.

At the end of 1992, the company SAPELI was founded and purposefully specialised the privatised plant on producing veneered doors and doorframes. Today's production takes place in new and modern sections using top-technology and thereby the highest quality of processing of our products is achieved.
